Lord Ganesha is known as the Vighnaharta, meaning the remover of all obstacles. Worshiping him and chanting his mantras brings happiness, peace, prosperity, and success into life. Here are some major Ganesh mantras and their methods of sadhana (spiritual practice):

1. Om Gam Ganapataye Namah

  • Meaning: O Lord Ganesha, I bow down to you.

  • Sadhana Method:

    • Take a bath in the morning and purify yourself.

    • Sit on an asana (mat) in a quiet place.

    • Light a lamp in front of an image or idol of Lord Ganesha.

    • Chant this mantra 108 times using a mala (rosary).

    • You can also chant it silently in your mind.

  • Benefits: This is the simplest and most effective mantra. It removes obstacles, gives positive energy, and brings success in all endeavors.

2. Vakratunda Mahakaya Suryakoti Samaprabha Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva Karyeshu Sarvada

  • Meaning: O Vakratunda (one with a curved trunk), the one with a large body, as radiant as millions of suns, please remove all obstacles from all my tasks forever.

  • Sadhana Method:

    • Take a bath and purify yourself.

    • Light a ghee lamp in front of an image or idol of Lord Ganesha.

    • Chant this mantra 11, 21, or 108 times.

    • Pray for success in your tasks.

  • Benefits: This mantra is considered very auspicious before starting any new work or for removing any obstacles.

3. Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Glaum Gam Ganapataye Vara Varada Sarvajanam Me Vashamanaya Swaha

  • Meaning: This is a powerful mantra that helps in receiving the grace and blessings of Lord Ganesha.

  • Sadhana Method:

    • Sit on a red asana (mat).

    • Light a ghee lamp in front of a Ganesh yantra (geometric diagram) or idol.

    • Chant the mantra 108 times with a mala.

    • Do this sadhana regularly for 40 days.

  • Benefits: This mantra is considered beneficial for wealth, prosperity, attraction, and gaining influence.

4. Ganesh Gayatri Mantra: Om Ekadantaya Vidmahe, Vakratundaya Dheemahi, Tanno Danti Prachodayat

  • Meaning: We know the one-toothed Ganesha, we meditate on the one with the curved trunk, may that Danti (one with teeth) inspire us.

  • Sadhana Method:

    • Take a bath and purify yourself in the morning or evening.

    • Sit in a quiet and secluded place.

    • Chant this mantra 108 times.

  • Benefits: This mantra helps in increasing knowledge, wisdom, and creativity.

General Rules of Sadhana:

  • Regularity: Do the sadhana regularly.
